Supplier Verification & Inspection

Know Who You Are Buying From — Before The Money Moves

Meridian Core Links coordinates risk-based supplier verification, factory assessment and pre-shipment inspection for international purchases. Verification depth is matched to the value, complexity and risk of each transaction, so buyers commit funds on evidence rather than on a website listing.

What this service covers

Company & Legitimacy Checks

Business licence, registration status, export capability and trading history reviewed against the documents the supplier provides.

Factory Assessment

Factory assessment coordinated directly or through appropriate qualified third-party resources, covering premises, capacity and process where access is granted.

Production Monitoring

Production progress monitoring coordinated according to the agreed transaction scope, with status reporting during the manufacturing window.

Pre-Shipment Inspection

Independent inspection coordinated with third-party firms such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or TÜV, against the specification and quantity agreed in the order.

Sample Evaluation

Golden-sample handling and comparison against production output so acceptance criteria are documented before shipment is authorised.

Documentation Review

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificates of origin and conformity, and product-specific certification checked for consistency before dispatch.

How the process works

  1. 01

    Define the risk profile

Order value, product criticality, supplier familiarity and destination requirements determine how deep verification goes.

  2. 02

    Supplier document review

We collect and review licences, registrations, certifications and references supplied by the manufacturer.

  3. 03

    Assessment on the ground

Factory assessment is coordinated directly or through qualified third-party resources where the transaction justifies it.

  4. 04

    Inspection scope agreed

Sampling plan, acceptance criteria and inspection point are agreed with you in writing before booking.

  5. 05

    Inspection and report

The inspection is carried out and the report issued to you before shipment authorisation.

  6. 06

    Release or corrective action

Where findings fall short, we coordinate rework, replacement or renegotiation with the supplier under the agreed terms.

Why verification matters more than price

The cheapest quotation is often the least verifiable. Trading companies presenting themselves as factories, capacity that does not exist, and specification drift during production are the common causes of loss on cross-border orders — not freight or duty.

A proportionate verification programme costs a fraction of an order value and gives you a documented basis for release, dispute or claim if something goes wrong later.

Where we verify

China, the United Arab Emirates, India, Turkey, Europe and the Americas, alongside supplier and off-taker verification within African markets for export transactions.

What verification does not do

We apply appropriate supplier verification and quality-control measures based on the requirements and risk of each transaction. Where required, Meridian may coordinate inspections or independent verification before shipment. These measures do not constitute an unconditional guarantee of supplier performance, product authenticity or product quality, which remain subject to the applicable transaction terms and responsible third parties.
